What is Orange Copy Paste?
Orange Copy Paste captures the text, images and files you copy, keeps a searchable history alongside your notes, and syncs them across your devices. Sync is end-to-end encrypted: every key stays on your machines and the server only ever stores ciphertext. Cloud sync is optional. The app is fully usable offline.
The pieces
Section titled “The pieces”| Piece | What it does |
|---|---|
| Clipboard history | Every copy lands in a rolling history of 100 entries you can search, filter, pin, save, and tag with groups. |
| Quick paste | Ctrl+Shift+V opens a popup at your cursor. Press a number and that entry is pasted. |
| Notes | A full editor with task lists, tables, code blocks and attachments, living next to your clips. |
| Cloud sync | Optional, end-to-end encrypted sync of history and notes across devices, in realtime, passive, or manual mode. |
| Spaces | Live shared feeds between people. Share a clip or note into a space and every member sees it in seconds. |
Where to start
Section titled “Where to start”- Install the app on Windows or Linux.
- Copy a few things, then press Ctrl+Shift+V.
- When you want your history on another machine, set up sync.
Principles the app is built on
Section titled “Principles the app is built on”- Local first. No account is required, and everything works with the network gone. Your data lives on your machine.
- The server can never read your data. Encryption happens on your device, and your password never leaves it. See the security model.
- Sharing is opt-in. Nothing is shared unless you shared it, or you switched on a filter that says so. Send filters are off by default.
- Quiet. The app lives in the tray, and the noisiest options ship disabled.
